Your home is probably the largest, most expensive single purchase you will ever make. It's probably your single biggest investment, too. And to think that it can be heavily damaged by little, hard working insects - that's just scary.

You need to take steps to protect your home before termites can damage it. A good place to start is to educate yourself on the options you have available.

Using Termidor is one of the most tested termite solutions in history. Before Termidor was made available to American homeowners through Termidor Certified Professionals, it was subject to some of the toughest tests in history. For 8+ years, grueling USDA-Forest Service ground board and concrete slab trials in four states tested Termidor. At every application rate and every last location, Termidor proved 100% effective.

AND DELK PEST CONTROL OFFERS A 5 YEAR WARRANTY OF NO RETURNING TERMITES!  WE STAND BEHIND OUR WORK!

Wood Destroying Organism Inspection or WDO Inspection is commonly called a Termite Inspection. This report includes not only termites but, other organisms that cause the deterioration of wood. Other wood destroying organisms could be a type of fungus or dry rot, carpenter ants, wood-boring beetles or carpenter bees. This inspection also covers any condition that can lead to an infestation such as a faulty grade or a water leak.

We provide WDO inspections for your home. Delk Pest Control offers treatments with Termidor to protect your structure from subterranean termites with a 5-YEAR WARRANTY. Delk Pest Control also provides pre-construction soil treatments and other wood destroying pest treatments. We also make available other related services like whole structure fumigation and dry rot repairs.
At Delk, we have reliable termite inspectors and skilled office staff that can relieve you of unnecessary delays and headaches. Delk Pest Control gives importance to your schedule and timetable.  Communication and understanding the WDO report is extremely important.
There are differences between Termidor (the product we feel to be the best in termite control) and termite baiting systems.

How Termidor's "Transfer Effect" works
The active ingredient in Termidor is fipronil and it works quite differently from other termiticide active ingredients. Most termiticides are repellents, which means they keep termites away from a treated area, rather than killing them. These repellent termiticides also kill termites. However, since the termites are repelled when they come in contact or just before actually contacting pyrethroid treated soil, the 'killing power' is less dramatic and if anyone took the time to count dead termites, less efficient. Termidor is non-repellent. Termites can't detect it. since they don't know it's there, they forage freely in a treated area.
Like other leading liquid termiticides, Termidor is lethal to termites when they ingest it (which they do readily since they don't know it's there). But, unlike all other termiticides, Termidor is lethal by contact as well. Once a termite comes into contact with Termidor, they carry it back to the colony on their bodies. Every other termite it contacts will itself become a carrier, contacting and infecting others. This is known as "The Transfer Effect".

The Termidor Zone vs. Bait Systems Recruiting:

  • When your home is treated with Termidor, a "Treated Zone” is established around the home. This is done using proven, time tested techniques that Pest Management Professionals are very knowledgeable about and familiar with.
  • When a Bait System is installed around your home, you have monitors placed every 8 to 10 feet around the house. In most systems there is nothing more protecting your home but wood "monitors". Bait will not be added until there is termite activity in one or more of the stations

The Process…
Termidor - Day One:
Termites wander into the treated zone and pick up the active ingredient. Already, some are "carriers" that are beginning to "infect" others in the colony.

Bait System - Day One:
No termites have wandered into the monitoring stations yet.

Termidor - A Few Days Later:
Termidor has been transferred to many in the colony. Many have already died, but the "Transfer Effect" continues to those who have not even gone into the treated "Zone".

Bait System - A Few Days Later:
Still, there may be no activity in the stations. Just termites eating your home.

Termidor - Within 3 Months:
100% Control! No more termites to damage your home. And the Termidor is still in the soil around your home providing protection against any new invading termite colonies.

Bait System - Within 3 Months:
Termites might have found the monitors at this point. However, unless there is sufficient activity, the PCO still might not apply any bait materials yet. Even if there is enough termite activity to bait, those critters are still feeding on your home, too.
Interesting Facts About Termidor

  • Termidor does not require any special equipment to apply. The same equipment PCO's have been using for years is all that's required.

  • The odds of termites wandering into a Termidor zone are much greater than wandering into a bait or monitoring station.

  • 100 gallons of Termidor solution contains only 8.4 ounces of the active ingredient! When mixed at the label rate of .06% WG formulation)

  • Termidor is not affected by debris, dryness, insects, or fungal decay.

  • Termidor is effective with all types of soil, in all kinds of climates, and on many species of termites.
